ACNE VULGARIS

  • Occurs when hair follicles are blocked with : 
  1. dead skin cells 
  2. Bacteria 
  3. and oil (sebum). 
  • Ayurveda mentions Acne vulgaris under :- 
  • Mukha dooshika- means that which cause harm to the beauty
  • Youvana pidika – means skin eruption 
  • Padmini kantaka -because of thorn like nature of acne

TYPES

  1. Whitehead – small raised white bumps. 
  2. Blackhead – open-pore ,black in color. 
  3. Pustule – pimple with pus. 
  4. Papule – pimple without pus. 
  5. Nodule – severe acne, hard to the touch without pus. 6. Cysts – Like nodules with pus.

    WARTS AND SKIN TAGS

    Small, non-malignant growths Due to HPV Viruses (human papillomavirus). Skin tags are soft, noncancerous growths Seen at folds of the neck, armpits, breasts, groin area, and eyelids. These growths are loose collagen fibers that get lodged inside thicker areas of the skin.

    In Ayurveda, warts and skin tags are known as ‘charmakeela’ ‘Charma’ means skin and ‘keela’ means growth or eruption.

    Warts tend to be flat, while skin tags hang off the skin.
